To ensure that children also do not experience this, as a parent you should train your kids to listen or watch television at a safe level.

 

Use earplugs whenever necessary

It is advisable that you make use of earplugs, whenever you feel that it is necessary to do it. These devices offer the best protection against a number of factors that can lead to one experiencing hearing loss. It is advisable that you use them when you are in an area that has loud sounds all over or even when you are swimming so that you can prevent contaminated water from entering your ears and infecting them.

Ensure that you remove earwax properly

Do not wait for long to clean your ears to an extent that there is a massive build-up of wax in your ears. But experts advise that you should avoid using a cotton swab in the cleaning as you risk pushing the wax further deeper hence causing hearing loss. Instead, it is recommended that you use the home irrigation kit since it can gentle wash out the wax.

Get tested on a regular basis

Getting tested on a regular basis will ensure that any infection that may be developing in the ear is detected well in advance, and dealt with accordingly in time to prevent any major negative effects.

When you smoke or use tobacco products for a prolonged period of time, there is a high likelihood that you will lose your hearing. So if you have been looking for a reason for you to quit smoking, then this is the one. But if you do not smoke ensure that you keep away from areas that you can inhale second-hand smoke.
